At the 8th of December 2009 in NTUU “KPI” the meeting of World Data System of International Council for Science was held.

Directors of World Data Centers and other organizations that provide the work of WDC in Russia and Ukraine and also representatives of partner-organizations of Ukrainian Center participated during the meeting.

Among them were: O. Sterin, deputy director of SI “RIHMI‐WDC”, director of WDC for meteorology; M. Zgurovsky rector of NTUU “KPI”, member of the WDS Scientific Committee, scientific advisor of WDC for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development; N. Sergeyeva, director of WDC for Solid Earth Physics; Y. Kharin director of WDC for Solar Terrestrial Physics; O. Kuznetsov, director of WDC for Oceanography. K. Yefremov director of WDC for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development; O. Kendzera deputy of the director of S. I. Subbotin Institute of Geophysics of NAS of Ukraine; L. Rudenko director of Geography Institute of NAS of Ukraine; S. Stankevych leading scientific staff member of the Scientific Centre for Aerospace Research of the Earth of the Institute of Geological Sciences of NAS of Ukraine; I. Vavilova head of the laboratory for Astroinformatics of the Main Astronomical Observatory of NAS of Ukraine; E. Sovga scientific secretary of Marine Hydro‐physical Institute of NAS of Ukraine. L. Tabachny deputy director of Central Geophysical Observatory of Ukraine and others.

During the meeting the questions of WDC interaction were discussed, especially the organization of world informational resources for scientific researches, directions for development of further collaboration in terms of World Data Centers System and Federation of Services for Astronomical and Geophysical Data Analysis transformation in World Data System was defined.

Also the results of joint projects execution aimed on modeling of complex natural and anthropological systems in the context of quality and safety of life, the development of GIS “Russia-Ukraine” and creation of only catalogue for data of the Segment and others, were considered and approved.

The leading participants of the meeting were received by the ex-president of Ukraine L. Kuchma. On the meeting that lasted for 2 hours the prospective of collaboration of Russian-Ukrainian Cluster for World Data System and Kuchma fund for studying Earth from the Space were discussed.
