On November 28, 2013 the ceremonial opening and presentation of the classrooms equipped for organizing and conducting distance learning was held in the Great physical audience of National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
The project has been implemented with the support of the University of Central Europe in Skalica (Slovakia), which created an extensive network of classrooms for video teleconferencing in the universities of EU member states, as well as of Ukraine and Russia.
The approbation of new equipment was made by the director of the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development - KostiantynYefremov. He showed the audience a presentation of the main principles of the WDC activity and its role in providing a wide range of interdisciplinary research. In the future WDC plans to actively use this software-hardware complex for the international scientific and educational activities.
The presentation was also attended by Rudolf Schuster - President of the Slovak Republic in 1999-2004, Rector of the University of Central Europe in Skalica named after Heidi Schwartz, by Pavlo Gayduckiy -Director of the Presidential Charitable Fund "Ukraine” of Leonid Kuchma, by the representatives of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, lecturers, postgraduates and students of NTUU "KPI".
