22.05.2014

On May 22, 2014 in NTUU "KPI" XVII Scientific Conference of Students, Postgraduates and Young Scientists "Ecology. People. Society" was held. Conference was organized by the World Data Center for Geoinformatics and Sustainable Development and the Department of Ecology and Technology of Plant Polymers pf Chemical Engineering Faculty, NTUU "KPI".

The conference was attended by 150 participants from Ukraine, Russia, Poland and Armenia. Unfortunately, given the situation in our country, not all participants were able to come to Kyivska Polytechnica. However, this did not influence the mood prevailing in the halls of scientific and technical library and Large physical audience of the NTUU "KPI", where the plenary and sectional meetings of the conference took place.

The leading members of the WDC and its consultants among which are Assoc. Prof. Andriy Boldak, Prof. Sergii Voitko, Assoc. Prof. Iryna Dzhygyrey, Assoc. Prof. Gennady Nersesian have given extremely interesting and informative lectures on sustainable development.

In their reports, conference participants, including schoolchildren-members of the Small Academy of Sciences 'Researcher' who traditionally participate in the conference, paid attention not only to the problems of environmental protection and rational use of natural resources, but also discussed the social and psychological aspects of environmental awareness among citizens of our state.

According to the conference results, the jury consisting of Prof. Sofia Stavska, Assoc. Prof. Oleksii Sytnyk and Assoc. Prof. Andriy Stepanjuk identified the best reports and their authors received valuable prizes from the sponsor of the event - Good Deeds International Charity Foundation.

It is necessary to note the cohesive, professional work of the student organizing committee, led by Iryna Popadenko - employee of the WDC. Thanks to the vigorous student team, each conference leaves fond memories for its participants.

The Conference will continue the following year.
